Review
Shielo is a hair company that produces their products out of the USA, specifically New York. Overall I really enjoyed the samples I received from Shielo and would love to purchase full size bottles of both the VOLUME line and the HYDRATE line. Here's some reasons why. The samples I received are actually quite large and will last me a while since you only need a tiny amount of product to achieve clean, voluminous, moisturized hair. A little definitely goes a long way with Shielo's products because the ingredients they use are concentrated and undiluted. I have colour treated, slightly dry, relatively normal thickness to my hair. Sometimes with volumizing shampoos, they tend to take out moisture from my hair, but with Shielo's Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner, it gave me volume WHILE nourishing my hair. The products smell good and left my hair soft and shiny. The scent is not overpowering, yet lingered in my hair. I can't quite pinpoint what the volumize shampoo smells like, but it reminds me of something...I really like it! The texture of the conditioner reminds me a lot of MAC face primer because it's not entirely smooth. Conversely, moisturizing shampoo and conditioners can leave my hair limp and greasy, but Shielo's HYDRATE shampoo and conditioner gave me moisture, but not too much to weigh it down. The conditioner is quite thick and nourishing. The conditioner is smooth in texture compared to the volumize one. I absolutely LOVE the smell of the hydrate shampoo and conditioner because it smells tropical.
Shielo also uses a vegan and natural base so you know you are putting good things onto your scalp. The formulas are paraben free, sulfate free, and mostly organic. The company is also cruelty free which wins major points in my book! Another thing worth noting is that Shielo has a sustainability policy. A sustainability policy means that at least 65% of their product has to come from naturally sustainable resource. If you are environmentally conscience and are looking for companies that share these values, Shielo is a great company to look into as far as Hair Care is concerned.
