Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tan Liquid

Hey Guys!
I've been looking forward to writing this post for a while now. Ever since I watched Steph's, SMLXO's, video on YouTube about Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tan Liquid, I decided to pick up a bottle and have been using it religiously ever since.

About the Product:

The ultimate luxurious self-tan liquid applied with professional mitt, promotes a flawless golden bronze tan on all skin tones. This luxurious liquid uses our unique, naturally derived tanning formula (DHA & Erythrulose) to create an intense, longer lasting tan. A cosmetic guid colour shows where the tan has been applied making application easy. The light, fast drying and non-sticky liquid works on contact with skin, without clogging pores. Tropical Scent. Paraben Free.

Directions:

Always apply to clean, dry skin. We recommend using Fake Bake Body Polish before application (directions on bottle). For dry areas such as hands, feet, elbows and knees apply small amount of Fake Bake Oil-free Moisturizer and towel dry off excess. Put on application gloves enclosed and then the professional mitt. Spray the liquid on the soft, brown side of the mitt and apply in a circular motion. Lightly glaze over hands and feet. Bend knees and elbows when applying. Although tanning actives start to work upon contact with skin, we suggest a nighttime application to get the benefits of a longer lasting tan. A small amount of the colour guide may rinse off in the morning when you shower but your tan will stay. Apply several nights in a row to achieve desired tan. Should only need to apply once a week to maintain tan. NOTE: Can be used on the face, however we recommend our product, The Face by Fake Bake which contains extra emollients and anti-aging ingredients and will not show in pores.

Reminder:

Even though the tanning actives start to react upon contact with the skin, you should always allow 4-6 hours before showering. This time allows for deeper penetration of these ingredients for a longer-lasting tan. The reason we recommend a nighttime application is that when the body is resting, it can absorb the maximum benefits of all the combined ingredients.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), SD Alcohol 40-B, Dihydroxyacetone, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Polysorbate 80, Erythrulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 40 (CI 16035), Coumarin

This product contains only a small percentage of natural, organic, preservative. Due to our commitment to avoid harsh preservatives, product must be used within 10 months of opening for optimum potency. Can be refrigerated to extend shelf life.

Review:

First off, you all know I'm an avid fan on Sun Labs and St. Tropez self tanners. I've tried a ton of brands, but I always end up going back to Sun Labs Spray and St. Tropez Tanning Mousse. I research this tanner a bit prior to buying. It looked like it had good reviews from several sources I trust so I decided to head on over to Amazon.com to check for a good deal. I hear you can buy this product at Ulta (I don't live in the States mind you) for around $24 per bottle, however, I ended up paying around $15 on Amazon. If you are interested in purchasing this, definitely check out Amazon.com first before splurging extra money at your local Ulta. For comparison, an 8 oz bottle of St. Tropez costs me $40, and a 6 oz bottle of Fake Bake Flawless cost me less than half of St. Tropez. Fake Bake definitely wins on pricing.

I purchased Fake Bake Flawless even though I'm not a huge fan of sprays because they are messy. I would only use my Sun Labs Spray to deepen my St. Tropez on my chest and arms because I found an all over body application to be way to messy and I hated cleaning the entire bathroom up after application. However, Fake Bake I do use on my entire body. Fake Bake suggests spraying the liquid onto the mitt prior to application. Yes, this does limit how messy the product is, but I don't suggest doing this as, unfortunately, the mitt absorbs quite a bit of the product when applying the liquid this way. I like to spray the liquid directly on the area of my body that I'm working on and then spread out the liquid with the mitt. The product lasts much longer this way and you also achieve a deeper tan!

Did I mention gloves AND mitt?! Yes I did! This product comes with a set of blue gloves AND a tanning application mitt. Not only do you get a less expensive product than St. Tropez, you also don't have to spend an extra $7 on a mitt! Now that I have used both the St. Tropez tanning mitt and the Fake Bake tanning mitt, I can honestly say that the Fake Bake mitt is way better in quality and application than the St. Tropez mitt.

As for application, the spray makes it fast and the mitt makes it even faster. It takes no time at all to have an entire body application using a spray in conjunction with a mitt. The formula blends effortlessly into the skin and the colour guide is dark enough that you can tell if you missed a spot. Virtually, you can't mess up using this product if you follow the directions. The colour is a deep, rich tan, with zero orange. You will not look like an Oompa Loompa. If I want to achieve an even deeper tan, I will tan two nights in a row and then only tan once a week to maintain it. Otherwise, one application a week is typically good for my needs. I've actually worn the colour guide in public without washing it off and it doesn't look unnatural. When the colour begins to wash off your skin, I find it doesn't come off patchy like my St. Tropez typically does. Also, the formula has never streaked on me. I always get a perfectly even, rich, deep, tan after every application. However, like all self tanner, I have problem when applying it to my hands. My hands are really dry and need to be moisturized, especially in the knuckles, prior to application. For my hands, I don't spray the product directly on them. Instead, I use whatever remaining product is on the mitt and lightly graze it over my hand area. My hands are the last step.

I highly recommend this self-tanner! This has actually replaced my beloved St. Tropez because the price point is so amazing and the quality of the formula is just as good, if not better, in my opinion. I love how I can achieve such a deep, natural looking tan that lasts an entire week with proper maintenance. If you are in the market for a self-tanner or are looking to try a new one, definitely check out Fake Bake Flawless!
